Working across India since 2002
Compelling visual stories of people, communities and change.
For almost three decades, I have documented human stories across India, working with international organisations including WHO and UNICEF. I create thoughtful, authentic photography that helps humanitarian organisations communicate their work through campaigns, publications, annual reports and advocacy.

Sephi is a world-class photographer who goes beyond the call of duty to produce quality results. He invests heavily in the project and his images remain some of my favourite pictures of the polio eradication initiative of all time..

Sephi has an amazing eye and is so thoughtful about the composition of each photo, allowing us to not only tell individual stories but also narrate our broader work comprehensively.

Sephi's work for Rotary was outstanding. Poetic, vivid photographs that help you see everyday India and the people who live there. He connects easily and puts subjects at ease."

- One approach across India — from 2002, I know how to work with your field teams
Documentary Photography in India — NGO Photographer
Since 2002, I have documented humanitarian work across India — from the streets of Kolkata to villages in Odisha, Bihar and Rajasthan. Through documentary photography for NGOs, I cover public health, education, gender equality, disaster response and resettlement for WHO, Unicef, UNDP and more.
My longest assignment was India's polio eradication campaign for WHO and UNICEF, photographed from 2004 until India became polio-free. The work became the book Triumph Over Polio (2012). Other long-term coverage includes HIV/AIDS awareness, malaria prevention, disability rights and education.
I work as an NGO and humanitarian photographer — focused on ethical, dignified visual storytelling. No poverty porn. Real people in real contexts, with consent and context, so your documentary photography for NGOs works for advocacy, fundraising and donor reporting — not just one campaign.
If you are looking for a documentary photographer in India who knows how to work with field teams in sensitive settings, let's talk about your next program.
