Documentary photography for NGOs is a powerful tool for storytelling and fundraising. This assignment for the Scottish NGO SCIAF focused on capturing positive and impactful images of APD – ‘The Association for People with Disabilities’ – a school in Bangalore that supports children with physical disabilities. The school provides education and life skills training to children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, helping them build a brighter future. The objective of the photo shoot was to create compelling visuals that could be used to raise funds and awareness for the school’s initiatives.

Documentary Photography for NGOs – Capturing Stories of Hope, Resilience, and the Fight Against Prejudice

By documenting daily life at the school, we aimed to showcase the dedication of teachers, the determination of students, and the transformative impact of education. These images not only serve as a fundraising tool but also help generate awareness about the importance of inclusive education. Through this project, we highlight the resilience and potential of these children, inspiring support for their journey ahead.
